Description
Originally built in 1769, Endview Plantation has quite a colorful history. During the War of 1812, the estate served as an encampment and training ground for the Virginia Militia, which had also stopped off at the plantation September 28, 1781 as part of George Washington's Continental Army. During the Civil War, Endview was used as a hospital. Today, the home has been restored to its 1862 appearance, and costumed guides offer interesting tours of the house and grounds, focusing on the Civil War era with an emphasis on the Peninsula Campaign.
